Logitech G502 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse Review

Logitech G502 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse Review, Driver, Manual and Software  –  Logitech has long become a leader in PC peripherals, producing some of the best gaming keyboards available (and some pointers on collecting our best gaming mouse). So they have a vast history of utilizing and implementing new technologies. This learning is seen in the latest refreshment of the G502, a wireless responsive mouse such as a cable unit. And which equipped with some fantastic features aimed directly at the gaming market.

The heart of the Lightspeed G502 is the Logitech 16K CPI HERO sensor. It’s Rated for 400 IPS, so it won’t drop tracking or stutter when you sweep it wildly. Logitech offers the latest HERO iteration that delivers exceptional performance at 10x the previous generation’s power efficiency. The G502 charges quickly, up from almost empty to 100% in 90 minutes, and offers a battery life of up to 60 hours with the lights off.

Features

The buttons on the latest G502 are nicely clicky, sensitive, and for the most part, are well-positioned. My only minor problem with the arrangement of buttons is that the left side of the mouse is a bit too crowded-it is the host for a pair of CPI buttons. Two right thumb buttons, and a sniper button that drops CPI to 400 by default to aim precisely. I sometimes find myself pressing the sniper button accidentally when moving the mouse or reaching for another button. And while a brief decrease in CPI is not a deal-breaker, it is a small annoyance.

An additional welcome is the scroll lock button, which is directly below the mouse wheel, allowing you to switch wheels between free spins and steps through clicks. While I hope the steps in the locked configuration are a bit heavier & better differentiated. The choice to quickly switch between modes is excellent when you want to go down to the bottom of the article. Or switch to the locked mode when you slowly scan it. The scroll wheel also calmly houses three different buttons. Press down to execute the mandatory middle mouse button or scroll left or right for two other programmable functions. There is even a battery life button below the scroll key that will illuminate the rod to the left of the mouse, giving you a quick indication of the amount of juice left.

Performance

Not only buttons that can be adjusted, but The G502 also comes with an optional set of weights in 2g and 4g sizes. It can be added to the mouse if you prefer a heavier pointer. Putting the full 16g to the unit makes it feel and behave very differently and brings an overall weight of up to 130g, which is fun. It’s great to be able to change a mouse quickly from its standard weight to something a little more substantial. I tend to lean towards a mouse that is heavier for productivity and something lighter when I play, so building both options into a single chassis is a pleasant comfort.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the G502 is its compatibility with the Powerplay charging mat. Not only does the mattress always charge the mouse quickly, but if you install it in the G Hub Logitech software. It allows your PC to register a mouse without having to plug the Nano Nano dongle. It is entirely free of the detection problems I encountered when testing Razer’s Hyperflux charging mat solution. Which lost tracking near the edge of the mat, and charged the mouse at breakneck speeds. You can also synchronize lighting between two peripherals in the G Hub if you prefer the integrated aesthetic on your desk.

The Point

Most importantly, it feels good to use. It fits perfectly with my hands, and outside the sniper lie, all the buttons are in a good position and easy to reach. I have never found myself mistaking the pairing button, or accidentally unlocking the scroll wheel. The Lightspeed G502 is a fantastic gaming mouse & easy to recommend if it is affordable for you. Without the Powerplay charging mat, the G502 sells for $ 149.99 (£ 129.99 in the UK). If you want to fill the mattress, you will be charged $ 99.99. $ 250 is spent on a mouse and mouse pad, regardless of the futuristic features set. but if you have spare money, the G502 is an excellent product, even divorced from relatives who support it.

The Bad

  • Very pricey ($150, or £130 in the UK)
  • Right-handed only
  • Busy left side can lead to misclicks

The Good

  • Excellent 16K CPI HERO sensor
  • Modular weight, fully programmable buttons, customizable RGB
  • Compatible with the Powerplay charging mat
  • Usable wired or wirelessly via USB or Powerplay
  • Suite of 11 buttons

Conclusion > Powered by Logitech’s excellent HERO sensor, the G502 is a feature-rich, highly modular, excellent gaming mouse, even when not paired with the optional Powerplay charging mat, though it comes at a premium price.
