Logitech G700 Reviews

In the gaming mouse race, it’s been a long time since Logitech launched a new superweapon to divide your competition. In addition to the G9, Logitech had used the same design that has been tried and tested for gaming mouse since 2002, when the fabulous MX 500 was first announced. While the G700 got a new design for Logitech, it is still known as the Logitech mouse. We want to take this wireless gaming mouse to play and see if new shapes and features added.

Design

The most noticeable change is that the G700 can work in a wired or wireless mode like Mamba Razer. A separate wireless receiver is small and once installed to a USB port that is rarely used, directly connecting the mouse. Also, there is a power switch at the bottom of the mosque to save battery power.

If you prefer running the G700 cable or need to charge the mouse, then it is easy to connect a USB cable to a slot hidden under the primary mouse button. The G700 supports data and power over USB, so plugging in a cable disables the wireless link.

Even though this system sounds great, it is ruined by the terrible wireless performance that makes the G700 fearful for using sans data cables. While the sensitivity and speed of tracking are excellent, in wireless mode, the G700 fails to take tiny movements, which results in a jump of the mouse pointer. And excellent motion control, which is very bad.

Performance

We have experienced this defect using several systems, under all three mouse power management modes and both with and without Logitech software installed. That makes the G700 useless as a wireless mouse.

Plugin, the cable, and the G700 become an entirely different scribe. Accuracy is first-rate, tracking even the smallest movements without defects. Through three selectable profiles and five adjustable sensitivity levels, the G700 allows you to switch between 15 different sensitivity modes quickly and supports automatic mode switching for games too.

However, thanks to the additional weight of a rechargeable AA battery hidden inside, the G700 is slightly heavier than your standard gaming mouse, with a high center arch to compensate for the added internal electronics and battery cavity.

The G700 also packs some buttons more equitably than you would expect from a mouse, with 13 programmable buttons (including horizontal scrolling). That includes a group of four sleek thumb buttons in place of the usual two and a group of three uniquely shaped buttons to the left of the left main button. It is mainly used to switch between mouse modes (or game profiles) and is therefore not used regularly.

Only two additional thumb buttons are handy, and this feels unnatural to use. The way you can set the scroll wheel to the freewheel or scroll step is effortless even though it is a feature found in many Logitech mice now.

The Point

While hoping for something special, we were out of our time with the G700, which was very disappointed. When connected via data and charging cable, the G700 performs very well and does an excellent job of dividing our opposition in comfort and style. That is even though the mouse is a bit heavier and bigger thanks to the AA battery and the additional circuit inside.

Switch to wireless mode – the main feature of the G700 and the main factor in its relatively high price and the G700 is not possible to use. Good movement sensitivity is terrible, making the mouse useless for playing games when in wireless mode. Even something as familiar as selecting text in Office becomes an annoying challenge when we find ourselves condemning it for “choosing that damn full stop!”

We contacted Logitech regarding the issue of small gesture sensitivity but were unable to provide more information than the complaint in the forums. However, because the G700 is a product for sale, and no date has been confirmed for its repair. We can only recommend that you stay away from it, at least for now.

The Bad

The Logitech G700 Thumb buttons feel too soft, Expensive, Slightly heavy, and Software is Windows only.

The Good

The Logitech G700 Incredibly comfortable design, Evenly spaced, accessible buttons Comfortable design, Wireless or wired options, Rechargeable battery charges from USB, Customizable functions

The Conclusion

Logitech G700 got a few noticeable shortcomings, the G700s has a lot to offer mid-level MMO players, without compromising other genres.
