Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless RGB Gaming Headset Review

Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless RGB Gaming Headset Driver and Software  – If your gaming headset is too heavy, your head and neck will tire while competing, streaming, or simply relaxing and enjoying single-player gaming. The best gaming headsets can balance the weight & comfort really well. The Logitech G733 Lightspeed ($ 129.99) is the company’s latest attempt at a wireless headset, this time with an emphasis on lightweight and comfortable materials. There’s a bit of metal here – lightweight plastic with comfortable fabrics that look like home wearing yoga pants.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most premium build. The housing is made of matte plastic, includes a can and a top that holds the suspension strap. That makes it light (0.6 pounds), but doesn’t feel as durable as the Logitech G Pro X Lightspeed. The cups don’t rotate, which means fewer parts, but also makes them less adaptable to your head and packaging. These cans are stiff: They fit comfortably or not.

You can adjust the size in two ways: by sliding the frame up and down on the cup and moving the headband between two notches of different sizes. My head is more significant, and I prefer to take my headphones off, so I wear them as often as possible, which I find quite comfortable.

Not all sports; these are gaming headphones. There are two RGB lines – one in each cup with two lighting zones that you can control in Logitech G Hub (see Features and Software, below). And if you plug in a bendable microphone, the Logitech G733 looks even more gamer-friendly.

All Logitech G733 Lightspeed hardware controls are on the left can, including a mute button, (which can be configured for macros or other commands), a volume wheel, and a power button. The left ear cup also houses a USB Type-C port for charging, so you don’t have to bother checking the right side of the headset. For more, including changing Blue Voice or DTS HeadphoneX 2.0 surround sound, you need to change the software settings.

Logitech claims 20 hours of battery life with default lighting and 29 hours without lighting. According to G Hub software, I used the G733 Lightspeed for six consecutive hours with the default exposure at 100% brightness and 66% battery remaining, which suggests it will last about 15 hours afterward.

The Logitech G733 Lightspeed proves to be a good gaming headset, especially if it takes advantage of the DTS Headphones X 2.0 surround sound support. For example, when I was playing Call of Duty: Warzone, I could hear which direction the bullet was sounding from, and, in the gulag, an alarm sounded next to my head when it was time to battle for my life.

The 40mm drivers on the G733 Lightspeed are great for music too. They got louder than I needed and produced an excellent, clean sound. On Billy Talent’s “I Beg to Differ (This Will Get Better),” the vocals are smooth, and the drums have great bounce. Other instruments do not overpower Single-string guitar parts because they coat. I did see some benefit from Bass Boost in the G Hub software’s advanced EQ settings, as it’s more powerful.

Bendable and detachable microphones are not the best. In the G Hub software, I heard myself playing back with a bit of crackle that I couldn’t handle adjusting the settings, and coworkers told me I sounded subpar about calls. They say I sound dirty, as if the microphone isn’t picking up the whole sound, or that my voice is more nasal than usual (I use the default Blue Sound function when this happens).

Logitech G733 Lightspeed combines a sporty look with a game-class performance for an incredibly comfortable experience. The headset frame and suspension strap are lightweight, although at the expense of adjusting the angle of each earcup.

More importantly, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed sounds excellent, and the G Hub software has tons of customization options to tweak, including enabling surround sound and adjusting several equalizers. However, the Blue Voice and microphone don’t show the same quality here, as shown on the company’s more expensive Pro X line (such as the Logitech G Pro X or Logitech G Pro X Lightspeed wireless).
