Logitech K600 TV Keyboard Review
Logitech K600 TV Keyboard Review, Driver, Manual and Software – The difference between “smart TV” and “computer” is more blurred than before. Smart TV can run programs, surf the internet, and connect wireless devices. And if your smart TV almost functions like a computer, won’t your input device be a bit more nuanced than the remote control?
This is a question asked by the Logitech K600 TV Keyboard ($ 70) – and the answer. Yes, it is efficient to have the full keyboard you want for a smart TV. No, that’s not necessary. You might be able to use it, especially if you need a small and versatile keyboard in your life.
The design
The K600 is not as significant as a full-size keyboard, or as small as an average keyless device, measuring 14.4 x 4.6 x 0.8 inches. Instead of a Numpad, there is a circular touchpad, with the directional style remote control pad directly above it. Both are very helpful when connected to a smart TV, but lack the accuracy needed to replace a mouse on a computer. You can also hit the left or right of the touchpad to replicate the left and right clicks.
There are also several additional buttons on the left side of the keyboard: left-click, right-click, home, back, tab view, and search. The left and right-click buttons may appear redundant because the touchpad can do the same thing, but not all applications recognize the touchpad. More about that later.
The features
You can use the K600 with a computer or mobile device, and it works properly. I won’t buy it individually for that purpose, but you can indeed synchronize it with all your sign-in devices. You can also modify some of the button commands and scroll features through the Logitech Options software, but this program is optional for all but the happiest power users.
The K600 comes with a wireless USB dongle, and you can connect two other devices via Bluetooth. Pairing is an easy process; hold the button and wait for the led to start flashing. You also can switch between three different inputs instantly by just pressing the F1, F2, and F3 buttons. I have a K600 that is connected to a TV, computer, and Android phone and uses it with every device.

Performance
However, when we use the K600, it works very well. Being able to type for what you really want to watch on Netflix is as fun as it sounds.
Text entry takes a lot of time, far less than hunting and pecking letters on the remote with difficulty, while the d-pad and media keys areas zippy as what you will find on a unique remote. Also, it’s impossible to overestimate how useful the touchpad is for a web browser. Of course, you are gonna use a lot from your smart-TV web browser.
My only complaint about the performance of the K600 is that the wireless signal requires a line of sight that is stable enough to function correctly. When testing it, I had to sit on the floor in our office lab, with a partially (but mostly clear) view of the dongle. Even so, the K600 repeats several letters, bypasses others, and interprets my “enter” command as an additional character.
The point
K600 is a pretty niche keyboard, but that doesn’t make it bad. If you find yourself always using the search feature on your smart TV and hope you don’t need to do the complicated process with your remote control, the K600 is an elegant solution for small but real disturbances.
However, incomplete compatibility across applications and the small buttons make it a stricter recommendation. And unless application developers make smart TV keyboards a priority – which I don’t think they will – the K600 will always represent a slightly kneeling way to interact with TV.
If you live through your smart TV, the K600 is worth the investment; if not, the best tool for the job might come with your television set.
The Bad > Cramped keys, Doesn’t work well with every app, Few advantages over traditional remote
The Good > Attractive design, Easy wireless connectivity, Does something unique
Conclusion > The Logitech K600 TV Keyboard’s compatibility is a little unpredictable, but it’s at least worth a look from smart-TV aficionados.
