Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse Review
The design
Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse Review, Driver, Manual and Software – First, let’s talk about visual impact. Although this is also available in plain blue-gray and stealth black, M325 is part of the Logitech limited Color Collection series for a reason. The top cover, which is the part that is covered by your hand, can be purchased with a variety of designs (though not, as far as we know, users can be exchanged – a little trick that overlooked even though it might mean better building quality).
The first is a stylish red-black flower on a white background (called FingerPrint Flowers); the second – our review sample – is abstract golden organic flower pattern with a smooth black-gold-sparkling stripes background (Victorian Wallpaper); then there is a blue background with a dark blue nature pattern and white handwritten text (Scroll Indigo); and finally, a simple purple model with white stripes of paving in white (Boulder Purple).
Apart from the latter, these patterns are interesting and original enough to make them worthy of consideration. The closest we can remember them is the interchangeable ‘art’ that Dell has to offer on some of its laptops, such as the XPS 15 with adjustable or pre-selected Design Studio cover ‘tattoo.’
As far as comfort goes, the M325 might be almost as good as this small ambidextrous/symmetrical model (less than 10cm). The curved rubber side provides a good grip for your thumb on one side, and the ring and small fingers on the other.
Sensor
Only when we get to the mouse sensor, we find our first disappointment: it uses a 1000dpi optical sensor, rather than a newer and more accurate laser variation. Let’s put this in perspective briefly. On most surfaces and for most tasks, optics are more than enough.
However, this is not a game or a wild animal. But with people like rival Microsoft 6000 using BlueTrack, which can track almost any surface with better accuracy to boot, that is a limitation to keep in mind. We would love to see cellular mice that use Logitech Dark Laser technology to track all glass.
The features
It is a beautiful system that adds a new level of ease and usability for browsing long documents or long web pages. And the advantage of combining it with unique modes. It is to let the scroll wheel free to act as a button. Rather than switch as on the portable Logitech V550.

Logitech’s typical rubber coating on wheels is cherry in the icing. Likewise, it is almost sure that any Logitech animal mouse will have responsive buttons with the right mix of travel and clicks, as is the case here for the right/left buttons and wheels. Our only complaint is that we can do it with one additional button, for example, under the scroll wheel, which can be programmed using Logitech’s exceptional SetPoint software.
Overall, the usability is as good as what you might find on a portable mouse, though sensor limitations need to be kept in mind if you want a device that you can use on surfaces such as marble, glass, or carpet.
The Bad
- Uses ‘dated’ optical sensor
- No direct access to receiver storage
The Good
- Unique visual design(s)
- Ambidextrous, well-built
- Micro-gear scrolling is a pleasure
- Lasts up to 18months on a single AA
- Tiny unifying Nano receiver
Conclusion
Besides from the unique design on the top, Logitech’s portable ambidextrous wireless mouse is comfortable to hold, offers an evolutionary micro-gear combined scroll wheel, and lasts up to 18 months with a single AA battery, and also uses a unified Nano receiver. The only potential drawback of the M325 is that it uses a ‘dated’ optical sensor, but for most people, that is still more than enough, especially considering the affordable initial price.
