Logitech MX Master 2S Review

Logitech MX Master 2s Review, Driver, Manual and Software  –  Measuring large 1.9 inches tall, 3.4 inches wide, and a depth of almost 5 inches, Logitech shamelessly excites seven buttons, right-hand mouse gracefully rests on most of your mousepad. It was leaning to the right, with a slope approaching thirty degrees on its upper surface. Generous thumb breaks flow out from under him like a breaking wave or an evening gown train.

Features

Like other Logitech mouse, the MX Master 2S offers connection options. This can function as a Bluetooth mouse, assuming you have a Windows 8 or younger PC that is capable of supporting Bluetooth Low Energy connections. USB receivers offer a special connection (at the expense of the port) needed for a Windows 7 PC. On specific machines we tested, the receiver was connected faster after continuing from sleep than the Bluetooth system itself, so choose the one that suits you best.

Weighing less than a third of a pound, the MX Master 2S glides smoothly across an ergonomic mousepad that I use at home, as well as a gaming pad that I also tested. Whether it’s an increase in DPI, its physical design, or just a coincidental combination of settings, I feel like the MX Master 2S is tracked more smoothly than its competitor, the Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse. Some of that can connect to Logitech’s “darkfield” sensor technology, which is included.

The sensitivity of the mouse dpi can be adjusted in Logitech Options software, from 200 to 4,000 dpi, in the 50-dpi segment. The pointer speed can also be adjusted there.

One (almost) unique feature of Mouse Surface Precision from Microsoft is its ability to “jump” between PCs, using a technology called Smart Switch. As long as each PC is connected via Bluetooth to the mouse, running Precision Mouse to the “edge” of each connected PC display allows you, after a pause, to switch to the next PC. Although it feels somewhat exotic, it is undoubtedly a new trick for a quick transition between a working PC and a home PC.

Performance

Logitech Flow software works similarly, but with broader and stronger functionality. With Flow, not only you can connect to multiple PCs – but also transfer text, images, and even files in between, all protected with AES-256 encryption. Just drag the cursor to the end of the screen, and it moves to another PC, faster than Microsoft Smart Switch. Logitech even helps provide an option to trigger the Flow transition only when you press the Ctrl key.

Flow connects up to three computers (or Macs), the same as Smart Switch. You must install the Logitech Options software on each device, then connect to the mouse via Bluetooth or Unifying Receiver. All PCs connected to Flow must also be connected to the same wired or wireless network. I can connect one PC with the receiver, and one with Bluetooth, and send data back and forth without problems. The only limitation might be your firewall: ZoneAlarm, in particular, seems to want to block Flow connectivity.

Think of Flow as a replacement for the practical “sneakernet,” where you don’t need to dig out a USB key. For photographing Word documents or text snippets back and forth between PCs, this is very practical. But for bigger files, transferring data is only as fast as your wireless network. Thats why a USB key or portable hard drive might be a better solution.

The Bad > Nowhere to store USB receiver, Not the most compact mouse for traveling with

The Good > Great build quality, Comfortable in the hand, Rechargeable battery (via micro USB), Works with up to three devices

Conclusion > The MX Master 2S, is a stellar refinement of previous models, and offering an excellent combination of ergonomics and also the functionality.
